In his paintings, Alex Skorija constructs abstract spaces that retain the memory of familiar forms. Working across a range of mediums, including oil, gouache, ink, and distemper, Skorija explores the tactile qualities of his surfaces through layering and varied application. His compositions are structured yet ambiguous, balancing suggested windows, silhouettes, and stacked landscapes that hover on the edge of recognition without ever fully settling into a single identity.
Beyond his studio practice, he runs Charmed ↗, a small artist-run gallery.
